A diamond shaped pendant of natural lapis lazuli set in sterling silver channel inlay. Fine silver channels run through the deep blue lapis in a stepped triangle pattern, and the hinged bail is inlaid with lapis to match, so the pendant hangs with a clean line of blue from top to bottom. Flecks of gold pyrite in the lapis catch the light.
Channel inlay is a Southwestern silversmithing tradition: each piece of stone is cut and set flush by hand between silver walls, then ground and polished level with the metal.
